To contribute to the Indian economy and the world through excellence in management education, training and research, and to contribute to the all-round development of the Indian world of business and its global associates, through excellence in decision making and problem solving. Full Time Program:

The full-time MBA programme focuses on "Management Systems", designed to be completed in two years. The programme provides a wide range of electives to the students. It equips the future managers with a combination of various technical skills and values focused decision making ability. All this is imparted in a course curriculum offered in a flexible mode.

The programme is developed after extensive research and interaction with the various stakeholders. It provides the student various routes to the industry, matching their requirements with his/her skills and predispositions.

Along with specialization in core "Management Systems", a student can also specialise in major streams, like Information Technology Management, Finance, Marketing, Strategic Management, Organisation Management, Manufacturing Management and Public Sector Management. The programme offers a blend of analytical and creative problem solving skills. The programme places heavy emphasis on practical experience for which extensive interaction with the industry is built into the curriculum.

Part Time MBA Program:


For the Indian industry to gain global competitiveness, effective management of technology is crucial. This would mean using technology as a strategic variable to gain competitive advantage and would require an organization to critically understand processes of technology planning and strategy, management of technology transfer and absorption, technology forecasting and assessment, technology acquisition and international negotiations, commercialization of new technology, technology implementation and adaptation, management of innovation and R&D, intellectual property rights, project management, entrepreneurship, and technology financing and marketing.

The part-time MBA programme with focus on "Technology Management" is aimed at fulfilling these requirements so as to enable the managers to effectively contribute in evolving core competencies in Indian industry.

Campus:


The campus of the Institute extends to an area of 320 acres. With many topographical features, imaginatively laid out with picturesque landscape, numerous buildings of various nature and stature, and clean and wide roads, the campus presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. The campus area has been divided into four functional zones : (i) Residential zone for students; (ii) Residential zone for the faculty and staff; (iii) Academic zone for academic buildings and workshops; and (iv) Cultural-cum-social and recreational zone for students. The site being longitudinal in shape, the last two zones have been located mid-way between the two residential zones in order to reduce walking distance.

Library:

The institute boasts of its Computer center offering a vast array of highly advanced computing resources.Linkages have been established with the IBM solutions research center, Microsoft lab and Intel lab. The department houses a fully functional application of the ORACLE 8 suite enabling the students to understand and build database applications using the state of the art technology.The department uses many specialised management aiding software like SAS, BaaN, Oracle Suite, Delphi, Expert Choice, I Think, SPSS etc. Besides the students have access to the CMIE database and the Internet over a 2Mbps direct line.

The Central Library with books and journals on all disciplines, is one of the largest of its kind.The Departmental Library has an extensive collection of books and literature related to the management sciences and subscribes to various management periodicals and journals.

Hostels:

Excellent facilities for residence, co-curricular activities, sports and games, recreation, shopping, etc. have been provided to the students on campus. Special efforts are made to promote student-teacher interaction. Counselling and Student Support services have been provided to assist students during their stay on IIT campus, from the initial process of assimilation up to their graduation from the Institute.
The ten Student Hostels at IIT Delhi are named after the mountain ranges of India. The eight Boys' Hostels and two Girls' Hostels house around 5000 IITians.
Each Hostel is self-contained with amenities such as Library and Reading Room, Recreation Room, Lounge and Dining Hall with Mess. Each Hostel has a Computer Room with state-of-the-art computing facilities.
Temporary residence may also be provided in the apartments on campus, viz., Indraprastha and New Vindhyachal Apartments.

Canteen:


There are two canteens for the students :one in Hostel area just opposite to Aravali Hostel and the other located infront of Library across the road.The hostel area canteen is open normally from 4 p.m. till midnight. The other canteen runs during the Institute working hours. Working of both the canteens is looked after by the canteen cell of the Board of Hostel Management. There are Coffee and Cold drinks vending machines in the Institute.

Sports:

The Institute lays considerable emphasis on student participation in various outdoor and indoor games. The students are encouraged to participate in games and sports activities which cover athletics (men and women), badminton (men and women), basketball (men and women), cricket, football, gliding, gymnastics, hiking and mountainee-ring, hockey, judo, kabaddi, squash, table tennis (men and women), tennis, volleyball, yoga, weightlifting, multi-gym, swimming and water-polo. These activities make the leisure hours of students profitable.

Medical:

The Institute has a hospital centrally situated in the campus. It provides facilities for OPD treatment and admissions. It has a Pathology Lab. providing facilities for blood, urine, stool examination and biochemical tests, equipped with a semi-auto analyser. The X-ray Department undertakes routine radiography. There is a Physiotherapy Unit with modern equipments. The Dental Unit provides dental facilities by dental surgeon and technician. It has separate dental X-ray machine. The Elcectrocardiogram ( ECG) facility is also available. A small Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been started with bed side ECG monitor, Cardiac defibrillator etc. Nebuliser for aerosol therapy is available in emergency for patients who come in acute attack of Bronchial Asthma.

Placement and recruiters:

Placements 2007:
Placements 2007 have reinforced DMSs position among the higher echelons of management education. With companies competing for the best brains from this centre of excellence, the entire batch was placed within six hours of commencement of the placement process. Even before the placement process began an impressive 8 PPOs were made.

The average salary for the year was a whopping Rs.8.9 Lakh p.a., whereas the median salary stood at Rs. 8.45 Lakh p.a., and the highest domestic salary offered was Rs. 13.5 Lakh p.a. A total of 42 companies visited the campus scouting for talent and in the process made a staggering 1.92 offers per student, including an overseas assignment with a compensation of USD 70,000.

Placements 2008:
For a batch of 63 students they had a participation of 46 Companies. A total of 91 offers were made to the outgoing batch. Offers per student stood at 1.44, the average salary this year was a whopping 11.92 Lakhs p.a, which witnessed a surge of 33% compared to the last batch. The median salary turned out to be 11.7 Lakhs p.a. The highest domestic salary for the class of 2008 was a staggering 20.7 Lakhs p.a. offered by Reliance Energy. Quite a few companies could not recruit anyone as the process got over on day zero itself.

This year also witnessed a slew of laterals being offered to the students where in the average salary for the laterals stood at 13.15 Lakhs p.a., while the median salary stood at 12.5 Lakhs p.a.
